About the role
Position: Senior Manager HVAC Design Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager HVAC Design to lead the design and engineering of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. The role is responsible for managing the complete design lifecycle, leading engineering teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality HVAC solutions for commercial, residential, or industrial projects. Key Responsibilities Project & Team Management Lead and mentor a team of HVAC engineers and CAD/BIM drafters. Allocate project workloads, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of design milestones. Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle. HVAC Design & Engineering Oversee HVAC system design, including heat load calculations, ventilation design, equipment selection, and system sizing. Review and approve designs for chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV systems, ducting, and piping layouts. Prepare and validate engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software such as HAP. Standards & Compliance Ensure all HVAC designs comply with applicable building codes and industry standards, including NBC, ASHRAE, ISHRAE, and ECBC. Maintain adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements throughout the design process. Client & Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems within overall building designs. Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and project coordination meetings. Procurement & Technical Support Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, and tender documentation. Evaluate vendor quotations and provide technical recommendations for equipment selection and procurement. Value Engineering & Sustainability Identify opportunities to optimize project costs while improving system efficiency and performance. Recommend energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC solutions aligned with project requirements. Commissioning Support Provide technical assistance during installation, testing, balancing, and commissioning of HVAC systems. Resolve technical issues and ensure systems perform as per design specifications. Eligibility Criteria Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience 5-15 years of experience in HVAC/MEP design for commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects. Required Skills Strong knowledge of HVAC system design principles and engineering calculations. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, and other HVAC design software. Good understanding of HVAC equipment selection, ventilation systems, and piping/ducting layouts. Excellent leadership, project management, and stakeholder coordination skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Preferred Candidate Profile Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer) , LEED AP , or ISHRAE Membership will be an added advantage. Experience in delivering large-scale HVAC/MEP projects with a focus on quality, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance is preferred.
