About the role
Job Summary We are looking for an Embedded Software Development Engineer-II with strong hands-on experience in Embedded Linux to join our product engineering team. The ideal candidate should have experience developing Linux-based embedded systems, firmware, device drivers, and communication protocols for IoT and connected devices. Mandatory Skills - Strong experience in Embedded Linux Firmware Development - Hands-on experience with Linux Kernel, Bootloader (U-Boot), Device Drivers, and Root Filesystem - Solid programming skills in C/C++ - Experience with Shell Scripting - Knowledge of Device Tree Configuration and Linux debugging - Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet, CAN, and USB - Experience with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS - Hands-on experience with MQTT, Modbus, and CoAP - Experience using Yocto, Buildroot, or OpenWrt - Good understanding of Git, Cross Compilation, and Linux Debugging Tools Preferred Skills - OTA Firmware Update implementation - Secure Boot - Industrial IoT, SCADA, RTU, or Gateway development - TLS/SSL, OpenSSL, and Secure Communication - Cloud connectivity using MQTT and REST APIs Roles & Responsibilities - Design and develop Embedded Linux firmware for IoT and edge computing products. - Develop and maintain Linux device drivers, bootloaders, and board support packages. - Configure and customize Linux kernels and root filesystems. - Integrate hardware interfaces and communication protocols. - Debug and optimize embedded applications for performance and reliability. - Work closely with hardware and software teams during product development. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and product validation. Required Experience - 25 years of experience in Embedded Linux development. - Experience working on commercial Embedded Linux-based products. - Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. - Experience with version control tools such as Git.
