Nutanix Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Nutanix Engineer with 2 5 years of experience in managing and maintaining Nutanix environments. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise in Nutanix Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), virtualization, and cloud solutions. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment, management, and troubleshooting of Nutanix platforms. Key Responsibilities Nutanix Administration & Maintenance Manage and monitor Nutanix clusters to ensure optimal performance and uptime. Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patches on Nutanix clusters (AHV/ESXi/Hyper-V). Resolve infrastructure issues promptly to minimize downtime. Virtualization Management Configure and manage virtual machines (VMs) within the Nutanix environment. Implement best practices for virtualization using AHV or other supported hypervisors. Migration & Installation Perform migrations from VMware environments to Nutanix platforms. Deploy and configure Nutanix clusters, including setup and installation of nodes, networking, and storage. Storage & Backup Manage Nutanix storage solutions, including AOS, Prism, and Files. Implement disaster recovery and backup solutions using Nutanix DR/Replication. Performance Optimization Analyze system performance and optimize Nutanix clusters for resource efficiency. Perform capacity planning and scaling as required. Security & Compliance Ensure the environment adheres to security and compliance standards. Monitor and manage security updates and vulnerability patches. Collaboration & Support Work closely with other teams to integrate Nutanix solutions with broader IT infrastructure. Provide Level 2/3 support for Nutanix-related issues. Qualifications Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Nutanix technologies (AOS, Prism, AHV, or ESXi). Solid understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, AHV). Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing Nutanix Prism and AOS. Experience with Nutanix Acropolis, Calm, or Karbon (preferred). Familiarity with networking, including VLANs, routing, and storage protocols (iSCSI, NFS). Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions. Hands-on experience with VMware to Nutanix migration. Strong skills in Nutanix cluster installation and setup. Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Certifications (Optional): Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP). VMware VCP or other virtualization certifications.
