Lead Database Administrator

As a Senior SQL Server & Postgres DBA, your role will involve managing and supporting enterprise database platforms across on-premise and multi-cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will primarily focus on Microsoft SQL Server and also work with PostgreSQL and modern cloud-native database services. Key Responsibilities: - Manage end-to-end SQL Server DBA operations including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance in development, test, and production environments. - Lead performance tuning efforts by analyzing execution plans, implementing indexing strategies, and optimizing queries. - Implement and support HA/DR solutions like Always On Availability Groups, replication, clustering, and log shipping. - Troubleshoot production issues such as blocking, deadlocks, IO bottlenecks, and performance degradation. - Administer databases on Azure SQL, Managed Instances, AWS RDS, and relevant GCP managed database services. - Support high availability, scaling, failover, and backup strategies across cloud environments. - Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity in cloud deployments and work on hybrid database connectivity. - Provide hands-on support and administration of PostgreSQL databases across environments. - Work with PostgreSQL in self-managed and cloud-managed platforms like RDS, Azure PostgreSQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL. - Have exposure to MySQL/MariaDB environments and cloud-native databases like Aurora, Cosmos DB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, etc. - Support database migrations across SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms, ensuring data consistency, performance stability, and minimal downtime. - Own day-to-day production database operations, monitor health, performance trends, and capacity utilization. - Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and maintain operational documentation.
