About the role
As a highly experienced Senior SQL Server DBA, you will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise database platforms across on-premise and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Your role will primarily involve working with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and modern cloud-native database services. You will need to operate as a cross-skilled senior DBA, supporting SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments in production, and contributing to cloud-native database operations. Your strong ownership of critical systems and ability to adapt to evolving database platforms will be crucial. Key Responsibilities: - SQL Server Administration & Production Operations - Multi-Cloud & Managed Database Operations - Cross-Skilled Database Operations (SQL + PostgreSQL + Cloud DBs) - Database Migration & Modernization Support - Production Support & Reliability Qualifications Required: - 810+ years of strong SQL Server DBA experience - Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL - Proven expertise in performance tuning, HA/DR, and production system management - Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or other managed database platforms - Exposure to MySQL / MariaDB and modern cloud-native databases - Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and scripting skills In addition to the above responsibilities and qualifications, you will also be expected to: - Support automation of database provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance tasks - Work with DevOps teams to integrate database operations within CI/CD pipelines - Utilize scripting (PowerShell, Python) for operational efficiency - Contribute to improving DBA processes through automation and standardization As a professional in this role, you should exhibit: - A strong ownership mindset for critical production systems - Ability to work across multiple database technologies and cloud environments - Effective collaboration with application, cloud, and DevOps teams - Team player with a go-getter mindset to contribute to project and practice initiatives - Clear communication during escalations, incidents, and production issues As a highly experienced Senior SQL Server DBA, you will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise database platforms across on-premise and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
