About the role
As a QA Engineer at OneKiraana, you will be responsible for owning end-to-end quality across various platforms, including web (Next.js, PWA), backend APIs and services, and upcoming native apps. Your role will involve testing across the full stack, from UI behavior to API contracts to data integrity. You will work closely with engineers to build a strong quality culture as the company scales. Key Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end testing across frontend (Next.js, PWA) and backend (Node.js, NestJS, Python services, PostgreSQL). - Write and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and regression suites for every product surface. - Build and maintain the automation framework, including UI automation (Cypress / Playwright) and API automation (Postman / Newman, REST Assured, or similar). - Validate backend behavior by writing SQL queries against PostgreSQL and ensuring data integrity end-to-end. - Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions) for confident PR shipping. - File clear and actionable bug reports, driving them to closure, and own release sign-off for production code. - Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend, backend, product, and design teams. Must-Have Skills: - 2+ years of hands-on QA experience on a web product, covering both UI and API testing. - Strong grasp of REST, JSON, and status codes, with the ability to debug using browser dev tools and read API request/response payloads. - Experience with UI automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium) and API testing tools (Postman, Newman, REST Assured, or similar). - Proficiency in writing SQL queries against PostgreSQL and knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and test integration. - Familiarity with scripting languages for writing tests, with JavaScript/TypeScript preferred. - Attention to UX inconsistencies, edge cases, and real-world failure modes. - Clear written communication skills for bug reports, test docs, and updates. Good to Have: - Mobile app testing experience, especially React Native. - Exposure to performance and load testing tools (JMeter, k6, or Locust) and security testing basics. - Experience in setting up automation frameworks or QA processes. - Familiarity with NestJS conventions or testing Python-based backend services. - Background in B2B, e-commerce, or supply chain products. - Knowledge of accessibility testing and test management tools.
