About the Role Software Engineer Director of Quality Engineering (Automation) The Director of Quality Engineering (Automation) will provide technical and people leadership for all quality engineering initiatives across PsychPlus's healthcare platforms. This role blends handson automation engineering with strategic quality leadership , ensuring our software meets the highest standards of reliability, security, regulatory compliance, and patient safety . You will own the automation strategy , scale and mentor a highperforming QA engineering team, and partner closely with Engineering, Product, Clinical Operations, and Compliance to deliver highquality healthcare software at speed. This is a handson leadership role not a purely managerial position. Key Responsibilities Quality Engineering Strategy & Leadership Define and execute the Quality Engineering and Test Automation strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements Establish quality standards, KPIs, and release readiness criteria across products Drive a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement HandsOn Automation Engineering Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks (UI, API, and integration testing) Lead efforts using Cypress and related automation tools Review and contribute directly to test plans, test cases, automation scripts, and execution Team Building & Mentorship Build, manage, and mentor a team of Automation & QA Engineers Provide technical guidance, code reviews, performance feedback, and career development Establish best practices for scalable, maintainable test automation Healthcare Compliance & Quality Ensure compliance with HIPAA , patient data security standards, and healthcare regulatory guidelines Partner with Compliance and Security teams to validate data integrity, patient safety, and audit readiness Apply healthcare QA best practices to EHR systems , clinical workflows, and staff operations CrossFunctional Collaboration Work closely with Software Engineering, Product, Clinical Operations, and DevOps Communicate quality risks, test results, and release readiness clearly to leadership and stakeholders Participate actively in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning CI/CD & Release Quality Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines Drive shiftleft testing practices across the SDLC Lead defect analysis, rootcause investigations, and prevention efforts Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Experience 10+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering or Automation 5+ years of handson Electronic Health / Healthcare QA experience (REQUIRED)5+ years in a technical leadership or management role Proven experience testing healthcare IT systems , EHR platforms, and clinical workflows Technical Skills Strong handson experience with Cypress and modern test automation frameworks Experience with API testing , integration testing, and endtoend automation Deep understanding of SDLC , Agile methodologies, and QA best practices Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with cloudbased environments and testing tools Domain Expertise Deep understanding of healthcare data workflows , patient safety considerations, and clinical operations Experience with HIPAA compliance , data integrity, and security validation Understanding of healthcare staff workflows and operational systems Soft Skills Strong analytical and problemsolving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire highperforming engineering teams So What Do You Think If you've made it this far, we're excited to meet you.
