Role Title: DB2 LUW DBA Job Description Role Overview Primary responsibility of this role is to provide 24x7 production support to Mongo and Postgres databases Ideal candidate should have 6 years of experience and expert level knowledge of Mongo DB technology and good knowledge of PostgreSQL DB technology Heshe should be capable enough to handle complex issues independently and provide resolutions within agreed SLAs also ensure customer delight and always adhere to HSBC policies and procedures Candidates who have creative thinking and are willing to bring innovations and passionate about working on challenging initiatives will be given preference Principal responsibilities The job holder is responsible for 24x7 production support 247 shifts on rotational basis to Mongo PostgreSQL databases and work as a Consultant Specialist for the production support team Perform Root Cause Analysis and provide permanent fixes Investigate and provide solutions to database performance related issues Join crisis calls participate in MIR and PIR calls also mentor team members Experience and expertise in maintaining complex High Availability Replication cluster setups Provide consultancy for complex setups and Disaster Recovery Identify automation and Self-Healing opportunities and develop automation to reduce manual efforts and contribute to process improvement Expert knowledge in troubleshooting and handling critical issues in Mongo and Postgres environment Required Skill Candidate should be capable of handling production issues independently and provide resolutions within agreed SLAs Experience in Performance Tuning of the database Participate in Crisis Calls MIR PIR Should be able to present a solution and implement or explain the problem to both technical and nontechnical parties Should be able to lead crisis calls and work on finding the Root Cause Analysis and should be able to test implement remedial actions Follow best practices while managing systems and delivering services Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automations self-service solutions and process improvement initiatives Mongo Experience of working in Sharding Environments Experience in Replication Environment Experience in handling Performance Tuning Experience in various monitoring tools like profiler mongo top mongo stats mongo sync etc Experience in MongoDB backup and recovery Experience in OPs Manager Experience in MongoDB Logging mechanism and Journaling Experience of Handling Crisis Calls Troubleshoot various types of critical issues in production environments Knowledge of database patching and upgradation Experience as Db2 LUW dba would be added advantage Mongo DBA external certification will be an added advantage Postgres SQL Knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture background processes and storage structure Knowledge of database objects such as schemas tables indexes constraints and partitioning Awareness of replication concepts and high availability architecture Streaming replication failover procedures DR drills replication monitoring lag management Hands on experience of WAL mechanism archiving and basic backup recovery concepts Knowledge of transaction management locking and concurrency control Basic performance monitoring concepts including query behaviour database growth management Query tuning EXPLAINANALYZE index strategy partitioning auto vacuum tuning bloat control capacity planning Experience in handling database maintenance and change activities like Review schema changes coordinate deployment windows validate post release database health and support rollbacks Knowledge of role-based access control authentication methods and security best practices Familiarity with production support processes and incident handling in PostgreSQL environments Maintain documentation architecture standard builds operational procedures DR runbooks and support guides Additional Skill knowledge of automation and scripting and experience in IBM Db2 RDBMS technology Soft skills Behavioural Qualities Efficiently manage all tasks Taking ownership and accountability of tasks Proactive approach in taking tasks Active listening skills Clear Precise and Timely communication with Customer Team Members Management Ready to work in 365 days 24 x 7 environment as per Business Project requirements
