About the role
Role Overview: You are expected to be a Data Savvy / Data Science Product Manager with expertise in retail supply chain and hands-on experience in creating and working with data platforms and data science. As a key architect in Product Management within the Retail Supply Chain Domain at PwC, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing data-driven solutions to meet customer expectations and align with company and supply chain objectives. This position involves working at the intersection of product, data science, and supply chain operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data products within the Supply Chain Domain. Your responsibilities will include focusing on business strategy, data analytics/data science, and product management, prioritizing user demands, supporting data governance and quality, setting up performance evaluation criteria, and communicating the benefits of data products to various stakeholders. You will lead the definition and implementation of data and AI-driven opportunities within existing products to enhance inventory health, planning efficiency, and end-to-end visibility. Responsibilities: - Translate business problems into data product opportunities, particularly in areas such as inventory optimization and supply planning. - Create use cases for enhancing/improving Retail Supply Chain using data-driven and data-intensive approaches. - Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to identify and assess AI/ML use cases across the supply chain. - Assist in defining the data platform strategy in Supply Chain, establish and maintain product roadmaps for internal data products (dashboards, APIs, models) to drive measurable operational enhancements. - Design and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data products, including problem scoping, data exploration, model integration, and business adoption. - Ensure data availability, quality, and usability by working closely with data engineering and governance teams. - Develop SQL queries and basic Python notebooks for independent exploration, validation, and prototyping of data insights. - Define metrics to monitor product adoption, performance, and business impact, continuously refining based on feedback and outcomes. Qualifications Required: - A platform-oriented mindset to perceive supply chain and enterprise inventory as outcomes of ecosystem-wide interactions, modeling product solutions that promote modularity, reusability, and information sharing. - Minimum 10 years of experience in product management with a strong focus on data & analytics; at least 2 years in a retail or supply chain environment. - Proficiency in driving Discovery to identify issues and opportunities in Retail Supply Chain through data analysis. - Understanding of external trends and the ability to evaluate their relevance to the product agenda and business advancement. - Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their applications in supply chain, along with a strong command of SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and Python for data exploration. - Experience with data lakes, APIs, and event-driven architectures, as well as the capacity to articulate clear requirements and collaborate effectively with technical teams. - Knowledge of demand/supply planning systems (e.g., Blue Yonder, SAP IBP) is advantageous, and experience in constructing/implementing Control Towers/SC Visibility platforms is preferred.
