About the role
As an Embedded Software Development Intern at Qualcomm, your role involves developing and designing real-time embedded software systems and hardware device drivers. You will be responsible for building mobile software infrastructure tailored for Android, Windows Mobile, or Linux embedded platforms. Your day-to-day tasks will include coding, iterating, and reviewing baseline configurations using C/C++ and object-oriented programming concepts. Additionally, you will assist with Linux/UNIX kernel development, board support packages (BSP), and low-level driver configurations. You will also be implementing, testing, and optimizing multimedia software layers, including Audio/Video codecs and advanced Image Processing. Furthermore, you will support wireless modem and connectivity software stacks (4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Self-Organising Networks) and handle protocol stack software components across layers, including TCP, UDP, IP, SIP, and RTP. Your contribution will include assisting in structuring software architecture for next-generation mobile, automotive, and IoT devices. Qualifications required for this role: - Must be currently pursuing or have recently completed a Masters' Degree (M.E. / M.Tech / M.S.) in Computer Science, Communication Engineering, ECE, or a closely related quantitative stream. - 2025 graduates who are completely available to commit to the full 1-year internship schedule on-site are eligible. - Should be available to work fully on-site from Qualcomm's corporate development facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
