About the role
As a Qualcomm Systems Engineer, you will be at the forefront of technology innovation, contributing to the development of cutting-edge solutions that drive digital transformation and pave the way for a smarter, connected future. Your role will involve researching, designing, developing, simulating, and validating systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will aim to surpass system-level requirements and standards. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and productize various video solutions on Qualcomm processors. - Enhance video and imaging firmware solutions and support video and imaging hardware subsystem enhancements in future Qualcomm mobile processors. - Design video and imaging features and collaborate with teams across the company during productization. - Engage with customers to commercialize Qualcomm video solutions. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. - OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. - OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. Skills/Experience: - 3-5 years of recent and relevant experience in Embedded systems domain. - Proficiency in C programming, multithreading, and OS concepts/fundamentals. - Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams for designing, implementing, and debugging video and multimedia features for mobile devices. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capability to guide team members. - Leadership skills to lead a team of 2-5 engineers, assign tasks, and strategize for the team. - Good decision-making and resource planning abilities. Preferred Skills: - Understanding of signal processing, video compression/codecs, and other video pre/post-processing algorithms. - Experience in multimedia domains such as Video, Camera, or Computer Vision. - Hands-on knowledge/experience with video codecs like H.264, HEVC, VP9, MPEG for development, porting, and optimization.
