Job Requirements Senior Design Engineer – Gas Turbine Starting Systems & Load Gear Job Description The Senior Design Engineer will lead engineering requisition and new product introduction activities for gas turbine starting systems, turning gear, and load gear, including coupling guards. The role focuses on executing high-quality designs, delivering drawings, specifications, and BOMs, collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and resolving field, safety, quality, delivery, and cost challenges. Roles And Responsibilities Coordinate and manage the execution of design tasks (Drawing / Specification / Bill Of Materials) to deliver on time with expected quality level. Ensure the design is per applicable rules, regulations codes and standards, design practice/work instruction, contractual requirement. Ensure equipment maintainability and accessibility, 3D model review. Carry out activities related to the purchase of equipment designed by a third party / supplier. Use technical knowledge for analysis to support/provide recommendations. Lead design tasks, ensuring timely drawings, specifications, BOMs, quality compliance Develop detailed system designs, calculations, analyses meeting safety, regulatory requirements Drive requisition and NPI activities for starting, turning, load gear systems Maintain standard designs, GBOMs, databases improving competitiveness, consistency, operational rigor Identify optimization opportunities reducing cost, enhancing performance, supporting product strategy Collaborate with leaders, suppliers ensuring design integrity, manufacturability, maintainability, accessibility Participate in 3D reviews, HAZOP, hazard assessments, ensuring corrective action closure Support procurement for third-party equipment, conducting document reviews, technical evaluations Provide technical guidance for estimates, resolving design, manufacturing, supplier deviations Engage customers, site teams resolving field issues, supporting commissioning, claim discussions Communicate progress, risks, recommendations across stakeholders with clarity, confidence Apply engineering judgment, proactive problem-solving ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost Work Experience Required Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering/design experience Knowledge of gear boxes, electrical motors, hydraulic systems would be an advantage. Focus, Design know-how or experience on Load Gear, turning gear, Starting Means and coupling guard would be an advantage. Mechatronics knowledge (sensors, motors, control…). Experience with engineering/design platforms (e.g., PLM, 3D modelling tools) Desired Characteristics Solid system-level engineering approach and analytical problem-solving skills Knowledge of load gear, turning gear, starting means, and coupling guards Understanding of applicable codes and standards (ANSI, ASME, EN, OSHA, etc.) Knowledge of GE Vernova tools and methods (e.g. GTCC-PLM, AVEVA, ClearOrbit (SDR, RFI, NCR) is added advantage. Experience collaborating with suppliers, sourcing, and quality functions Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work in dynamic, cross-functional, global environments Proactive, self-motivated, and quality-driven mindset Familiarity with manufacturing processes and project/program management Readiness for occasional travel (up to 10%)
