About the role
Job Requirements ROLE SUMMARY / PURPOSE
The Mechanical Engineer for Design of Steel structures using STAAD pro will work on design and development of Heavy-duty Gas Turbine (GT) Accessories systems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Design of Steel structures using STAAD pro. • Calculation of loads and load cases based on various Country Building codes. • Design of Bolted joints and welded joints based on AISC Steel manual as well as other country design manuals. • Hand calculations for structural designs. • Co-ordinate with Designer for successful completion of drawings. • Product Life cycle Management exposure. • Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, advanced technologies and systems engineering. • Coordinate with vendors to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications. • Document design work clearly and meticulously. • HRSG Domain knowledge is added advantage.
Work Experience QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / Structural Engineering. • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in steam/gas/nuclear power plant • Minimum 5+ Years of experience in STAAD pro. • Basic knowledge on Power plant components and its functioning. • Problem solving skills. • Ability to work with Cross Functional teams. • Good Communication Skills
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
• Ability to effectively present information to project and functional management and to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers. • Ability to synthesize information from different engineering disciplines.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
• STAAD Pro • Steel Connection design (Bolted/Welded). • Proficient in American and European Code • PLM Tools (Enovia / Teamcenter) knowledge is added advantage • MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
