About the role
Job Requirements A graduate Mechanical Engineer with 8+ years of Experience in Piping components and Valves will carry out the Maintenance, Pre Turnaround and related activities in Oil and gas Domain with Upstream (Offshore and Onshore) / Refinery work environment.
Requirement:
A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for following;
• Review of the Engineering drawings and Bill Of Materials • Selection of appropriate Bill of Materials for various types of service with special significance to Carbon steel and Alloy materials for corrosive sour services • Support in raising RFQ and evaluation of Vendor documents pertaining to Materials required for Turnaround • Identification of required consumables and construction materials • Site verification and preparation of construction activities • Conversant with piping components and their application , block and bleed valves and their application, piggable valves, types of entry and trheir construction features • Strong Knowledge of Piping Material Specifications, Valves and Valve datasheets and utility of valves • Clear understanding of the various valves in the Oil and Gas industry • Applicability and utility of various valves as per the Industry standards and various operating services . • Isometric drawings preparation, Extract and check isometrics.(layout) using AutoCad • Preparation of Valve Datasheets • Basic calculations of Actuated Valves , custody transfer valves • Material of selection of Valve Body, Trim , seats (metallic , soft etc.)and valve internals • Various types of Non return valves including Non slam type and its applicability • Weight calculations, various types of supports for valves based on the location of installation • Conversant with the applicable International codes of ASME and API • Able to perform basic mechanical calculations such as Pipe thickness, reinforcement calculations, Torque calculations for valves, Bolt area and flange calculations • Meticulous attention to detail with getting design converted to Detailed drawing. • Technical alignment of piping system and supplier follow up. • Should be able to provide technical clarifications on Mechanical and Piping aspects to the Construction team at site • Carry out independent checks and reviews. • Ensure design outputs meet health and safety/environmental compliance. • Awareness of various types of Pipe supports, special piping supports and their analysis • Knowledge of engineered Piping components. • Knowledge of special pipe supports such as Springs, hangers etc , and their calculations • Review of Vendor Engineering , Method statements, Construction , NDE and Testing and commissioning documents
Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. • 8+ years with Oil and Gas industry with added advantage of Upstream and Offshore facilities . • Fluent English written and oral communication / interpersonal skills. • Good interpersonal skills and working collaboratively with the -other teams. • Good knowledge of piping design techniques, material and piping codes / standards • Experience with Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • API certification is an advantage. • Experienced in Piping Design as per ASME standards. • Standard tools required are : AutoCAD 2D, PDMS, Smart plant, Naviswork, SAP • Hands-on Experience with AutoCAD in developing Plant Layouts / Main Piping Layouts/ Pipe support. •
Good to have skills:
• Exposure to project planning software/tools. • Experience with Share Point for document management. • Interaction with structural engineering team members
