FPGA/Electronics Engineer – Quantum Computing Hardware

Company: Quix QuantumLocation: NetherlandsEmployment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a talented and driven Electronics Engineer to contribute to the development of high-performance electronics for quantum computing applications.

In this role, you will design and implement FPGA-based systems, develop low-latency analog and digital circuits, and work with high-speed data interfaces that support our cutting-edge quantum processors.

You will collaborate closely with physicists and software engineers to ensure seamless integration between control electronics and quantum hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement FPGA-based designs using Xilinx Vivado, targeting Zynq and RFSoC architectures

• Design, simulate, and debug low-latency analog and digital circuits for ASIC and control system applications

• Develop and optimize high-speed data interfaces and protocols, including GTY transceivers

• Ensure signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) in high-performance circuit designs

• Perform board bring-up, validation, and hardware debugging

• Utilize simulation, timing analysis, and debugging tools to optimize performance and reliability

• Contribute expertise in mixed-signal and RF environments as required

• Collaborate across disciplines to integrate electronic systems into quantum computing platforms

• Document designs and maintain high engineering standards

Qualifications & Skills

  • Required

  • • 2+ years of hands-on FPGA development experience using Vivado

  • • Experience with Zynq or RFSoC FPGA architectures

  • • Strong background in analog and digital circuit design, particularly for low-latency systems

  • • Experience with high-speed data interfaces and protocols (e.g., GTY transceivers)

  • • Solid understanding of signal integrity and power integrity principles

  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • • High attention to detail and engineering rigor

  • • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • • Degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or a related field

  • Preferred

  • • Experience in mixed-signal design environments

  • • Familiarity with RF design principles and testing methodologies

  • • Embedded programming experience in C/C++ for Zynq platforms

  • • Python experience for automation, testing, or data analysis

  • • Experience with lab equipment such as high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and VNAs

What We Offer

  • • The opportunity to work at the forefront of quantum computing technology

  • • A collaborative, science-driven environment

  • • Competitive salary and equity options

  • • Professional development and growth opportunities

  • • Flexible working arrangements

  • Why Join Quixquantum?

  • This is an opportunity to work on hardware that directly enables the future of quantum computing. You will help design the electronic backbone of systems that solve problems beyond the reach of classical computers.

  • If you are passionate about high-performance electronics and excited by the challenge of building quantum technologies, we would love to hear from you.
