About the job Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Go) Department: Engineering Location: Bangalore Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days/week in office) Years of Experience: 5+ years Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Key Relationships Designations of Key Relations: Director of Engineering Job Description We're introducing Go into Qure's serverless platform on AWS to design and build scalable, production-grade services that power the plumbing around our ML systems: APIs, event pipelines, hospital-system integrations (PACS / DICOM / HL7), and high- throughput orchestration where Python isn't the right tool. As Qure scales to support tens of millions of patients across 100+ countries, the Go layer needs to handle real load with reliability, cost efficiency, and clinical-grade safety. You'll be one of the first dedicated Go engineers at Qure, helping set the standard for how Go is designed, built, tested, deployed, and operated across the organization. Roles and Responsibilities Architect and ship scalable, production-grade Go services end-to-end on AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, DynamoDB) for healthcare workloads at real scale. Make scaling, reliability, and cost trade-offs explicit through capacity planning, load testing, and post-incident reviews. Build for the next order of magnitude, not just today's load. Define the Go playbook at Qure: project layout, testing patterns, observability, deploy story, and on-call runbooks. The next 5–10 Go engineers will inherit these decisions. Set the technical and cultural boundary between Go and Python: what moves, what stays, why, and how we measure it. Drive design decisions through written RFCs and lead cross-functional initiatives across engineering, product, and clinical teams. Hire, mentor, and level up the next Go engineers as the practice grows. Set the bar for code review and technical writing. Operate what you ship. Healthcare workloads have no maintenance window. Own reliability, security posture, and incident response for Go services. Contribute to internal Go guidelines, security practices, and developer enablement across the organization. Skills & Expertise Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of backend engineering experience; 3+ years shipping production Go in systems you have operated, not just contributed to. Deep AWS serverless experience: Lambda cold-starts, IAM scoping, EventBridge / Step Functions / SQS, and cost trade-offs you've felt firsthand. Track record of starting or significantly shaping a codebase that others followed. Proven ability to design and operate scalable distributed systems: capacity planning, idempotency, retries, dead-letter handling, eventual consistency, and observability that works at 3am. Excellent written communication: design docs, RFCs, and code reviews that level up the team. Pragmatic polyglot mindset: respects Python; can articulate when Go is not the right choice. Comfort with Claude / Codex / LLM tooling in your daily workflow. Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Skills Experience in the healthcare industry, with an understanding of FDA/ regulated software, compliance, and security requirements. Exposure to DICOM, HL7, FHIR, or PACS integrations. Experience introducing a new language or migrating services from Python (or Ruby/Node) to Go at production scale. OSS contributions to the Go ecosystem.
