Senior Project Manager - Air Quality Modeling Expert

Role Overview: Ramboll is looking for an experienced Air Quality Modeling professional to join as a Senior Project Manager. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for managing complex air quality dispersion modeling projects, mentoring junior staff, and providing guidance to clients and regulators. Your role will involve serving as a technical lead and project manager on projects using regulatory guideline models like AERMOD and CALPUFF, ensuring project delivery excellence, providing solutions to compliance challenges, and mentoring junior staff. Additionally, you will be involved in business development activities, client liaison, and regulatory interactions. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as a technical lead and project manager on complex air quality dispersion modeling projects using regulatory guideline models such as AERMOD, CALPUFF, and related tools. - Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery meeting client expectations. - Provide solutions to compliance challenges, senior-level QA/QC review, and technical oversight of modeling analyses. - Act as a client liaison, supporting clients through the project lifecycle from pre-application strategy to compliance. - Lead regulatory interactions and serve as a technical representative before national and state environmental authorities. - Mentor and develop junior to mid-level staff, providing technical guidance and career development support. - Contribute to business development through proposal writing, scope development, and client engagement. - Work with leadership to integrate local teams into the global modeling practice. - Lead special projects and initiatives as directed by senior leadership. Qualifications Required: - Demonstrated project management ability including scope, budget, schedule, and team coordination across multiple projects. - Exceptional oral and written communication skills. - Deep expertise in regulatory air dispersion models, particularly AERMOD and CALPUFF. - Extensive experience in utilizing AERMOD for regulatory applications. - Strong knowledge of national and state air quality regulatory frameworks and emission standards. - Proficiency with scientific programming tools and geospatial platforms. - Degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Environmental or Chemical Engineering required; ME/MTech or MS strongly preferred. - 10+ years of experience in air quality consulting, dispersion modeling, and environmental permitting.
