About the role
Role Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer (Special Purpose Machines) at Real Jobs Consulting Services, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving SPMs and related mechanical systems for manufacturing applications. Your day-to-day tasks will involve preparing detailed 3D models and 2D drawings, performing calculations and basic simulations, reviewing specifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will coordinate with vendors and shop-floor teams during fabrication, assembly, and commissioning, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and implement design improvements. Additionally, you will support project planning, documentation, and enhancement of safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and improve Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and related mechanical systems for manufacturing applications. - Prepare detailed 3D models and 2D drawings, perform calculations and basic simulations, and review specifications. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, quality, and procurement. - Coordinate with vendors and shop-floor teams during fabrication, assembly, and commissioning. - Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement design improvements. - Support project planning, documentation, and continuous enhancement of safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Qualifications Required: - Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering, with a focus on design and development of Special Purpose Machines. - Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and shop-floor personnel, and to document technical information clearly. - Solid analytical skills to interpret technical data, perform calculations, diagnose mechanical issues, and propose practical design improvements. - Project management capabilities to plan tasks, track timelines, coordinate with stakeholders, and support successful machine installation and commissioning. - Bachelors degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. - Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and familiarity with relevant standards and tolerances. - Experience in machine design, automation, or tooling within a manufacturing environment is preferred. - Ability to work safely on-site in a shop-floor environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail.
