We are calling for an Energy Market Analyst to work with our team that develops simulationready datasets in Pune/Bengaluru. Key Accountabilities and DutiesReporting to the Global Director of Data and Market Analysis.Supervise the development and maintenance of Global (North America/Europe/APAC) Power and Natural Gas Market models/datasets using PLEXOS and Aurora tools.Lead and coordinate market research, model updates, result analysis, and model benchmarking.Day-to-Day DutiesWork in a team of energy data analysts.Deliver standalone datasets and portions of datasets using fundamental data along with PLEXOS and Aurora power market models.Apply knowledge of various power markets to analyze and manipulate data for input into power market models.Troubleshoot market models and intermediate work products for errors and omissions.Benchmark production cost models.Run PLEXOS and/or Aurora, directing other analysts in running and interpreting model results.Compare models and review preliminary forecast output results for inconsistencies to ensure deliveries meet product specification.Interpret market models and detect errors and omissions.Foundation SkillsExperience with energy market modelling.High level of numeracy, computer, and web literacy.Solid foundational skills and understanding of energy economics for power market fundamentals.Knowledge of production cost modelling software such as PLEXOS (preferred), Aurora, ProMOD, or similar.Expert knowledge of power plant and natural gas economics, power systems, gas supply chain, operation research/optimization techniques, statistics, and energy (power & gas) markets/industry.Knowledge and experience with transmission planning and nodal market modeling, including generator mapping, assessing Nx contingencies, troubleshooting nodal model infeasibilities, and other planningrelated power flow analysis.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, direct other analysts productively, and oversee projects/assignments from start to finish.Selfstarter, organized, persistent, goaldriven, with a cando attitude and a willingness to take challenges as opportunities to add value.Diligent, systematic, and pays attention to detail to ensure work accuracy and quality.Punctual, professional work and phone etiquette.Experience2 to 4 years of experience with energy modelling and power market analysis.
