About the role
As a Data Engineer at FIS, you will be a part of a dynamic team working on challenging issues in financial services and technology. Your role will involve collaborating with team members to meet deadlines, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and learning quickly to adapt to new situations and priorities. Your interpersonal skills will be essential in working effectively within the team. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement data pipelines using Snowflake/DBT for scalability, reliability, and performance. - Develop ELT processes to extract, load, and transform data into Snowflake. - Create Python scripts for processing, loading, and transforming data. - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. - Utilize DBT and Airflow for orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring of data workflows. - Optimize existing data pipelines for efficiency and performance. - Implement best practices for data modeling to ensure consistency and accuracy. - Troubleshoot issues related to data pipelines and resolve bottlenecks or discrepancies. - Stay updated with advancements in Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, and related technologies. - Document processes, workflows, and configurations for reference and future improvements. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. - Proficiency in Snowflake, Python scripting, SQL, and scripting languages. - Hands-on experience with DBT, Airflow, ETL/ELT processes, and building scalable data pipelines. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Good to have: - Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. - Certifications in Snowflake, DBT, or Airflow. - Experience in Data modeling, DataBricks, or other analytical platforms. - Banking Domain knowledge would be an added advantage.
