Director of Engineering - Core Platform

As a Director of Engineering Core Platform at our company, you will be responsible for owning and evolving the full Core Platform stack, from service infrastructure to developer tooling. Your role will involve setting platform engineering standards that are adopted organization-wide, including APIs, observability, deployment, and security. You will also act as the internal customer advocate, obsessing over DX metrics, adoption, and reducing friction. Partnering with all product engineering teams, you will understand and solve their most challenging infrastructure problems. Additionally, you will be leading teams of 15-30+ engineers across platform verticals. Key Responsibilities: - Own and evolve the full Core Platform stack from service infrastructure to developer tooling - Set platform engineering standards adopted org-wide APIs, observability, deployment, and security - Act as the internal customer advocate obsess over DX metrics, adoption, and friction reduction - Partner with all product engineering teams to understand and solve their hardest infrastructure problems - Build and lead teams of 15-30+ engineers across platform verticals Qualifications Required: - 10 to 16 years in infrastructure or platform engineering; led platform teams at high-scale companies - Deep expertise in Kubernetes, observability systems, and developer experience platforms - Track record of reducing engineering friction while improving system reliability - Tier-I institute background strongly preferred (IIT / IIIT / NIT / IISC / BITS CSE/ISE) In this role, you will work with a technology stack that includes: - Infrastructure: Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD - Streaming: Kafka, Schema Registry - Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger - DX: GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Internal Developer Portal - Security: Vault, OAuth2, AWS IAM Joining our Core Platform team means being part of the engineering team's operating system.
