Manual QA Engineer

Job Title: Manual QA Engineer Location: India – (Remote) Contract Duration: 6+ months (with high possibility of extension) About The Role We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer to join our team. This role is primarily focused on manual functional testing (70%) , with a secondary expectation of having basic knowledge of automation tools (30%) . The ideal candidate will ensure product quality by identifying, documenting, and tracking issues, while collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers. Key Responsibilities Perform thorough manual functional testing of web and mobile applications. Create, maintain, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios. Identify, document, and track defects using Jira or similar tools. Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met. Conduct regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Contribute to test planning, reporting, and continuous process improvement. Utilize basic knowledge of Selenium, Java, and automation concepts to support the QA process (note: no scripting required). Required Skills & Experience Proven experience in manual functional testing. Strong expertise of Functional QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Hands-on experience with Jira or other defect management tools. Basic knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium and programming concepts in Java (no scripting required). Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
