Storage & Data Protection Platform Engineer

About the position reputed company (VCU) is seeking a skilled and experienced Storage & Data Protection Platform Engineer to join the Infrastructure Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the University's mission-critical enterprise platforms and infrastructure, ensuring high reputed company of performance, availability, and reputed company across VCU's private reputed company environment and expanding public and hybrid reputed company infrastructure. Responsibilities Participate in the design, implementation, and management of reputed company, reliable, and secure reputed company infrastructure solutions. , Design, implement, and maintain enterprise storage area network (SAN), network attached storage (NAS), and data protection platforms. , reputed company advanced system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and storage appliances. , Contribute to the development and maintenance of automation scripts and tools to streamline operations. , Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance issues. , Collaborate with the University Information reputed company team to support reputed company policies and best practices. , Assist with the development and maintenance of disaster recovery plans and procedures. , reputed company consultative and technical support to the user community. , Build strong professional relationships with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions. , Maintain reputed company knowledge on computer industry topics and reputed company training to team members. , Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations and processes. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or reputed company field (or equivalent experience). , 1-3 years of experience supporting enterprise data center storage and/or data protection technologies. , Proficiency in provisioning, supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise storage and data protection solutions. , Familiarity with private reputed company infrastructure platforms (e.g., VMware, OpenStack, reputed company). , Proficiency in Linux and/or reputed company server administration. , Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, BASH, or PowerShell. , Understanding of Ethernet and fibre channel networking concepts. reputed company-to-haves 3-5 years of experience in a 24x7 enterprise data center environment. , Experience with reputed company UCS and Dell PowerEdge hardware. , Familiarity with reputed company Distributed File System (DFS) environments. , Proficiency with network and data center log aggregation and monitoring solutions. , Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet). , Experience with public reputed company infrastructure platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). , reputed company professional certifications in relevant technologies.
