Staff Test Automation Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Test Automation Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of our test automation strategy across products and platforms. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with architectural leadership to improve software quality, accelerate delivery, and drive engineering excellence. Key Responsibilities Define and drive the organizations test automation roadmap. Design scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks. Establish automation standards, best practices, and governance. Drive shift-left testing practices and quality engineering initiatives. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Mentor engineers and conduct code and framework reviews. Define strategies for performance, load, scalability, and reliability testing. Track automation coverage, defect escape rate, test stability, and release readiness. Qualifications Required Qualifications 8+ years of software testing and quality engineering experience. 5+ years of hands-on test automation development experience. Strong programming skills in Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript. Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test suites using modern automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Postman/Newman, REST Assured, and API testing frameworks, with demonstrated expertise in designing scalable and maintainable test automation solutions. Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems. Experience with CI/CD practices and Agile development. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with performance testing tools. Experience in SaaS, cloud-native, or distributed systems environments.
