Offshore - Remote - Senior SQL DBA

Job Description Role: Senior SQL DBA Location: Remote - India Duration: 3-9 Months This is for US based customer so work hours would be night i.e. 7 PM to 3 AM IST till Novmeber after November, 8 PM to 4 AM IST Key Responsibilities Installation of SQL server and creation of database as per need of application team. Design, implement, and manage advanced High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) topologies.Configure and troubleshoot complex Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances (FCI), and transactional replication.Lead routine disaster recovery (DR) drills to guarantee strict compliance with corporate RTO and RPO metrics.Conduct physical database layout design, capacity planning, and storage forecasting for massive databases. Diagnose server-level bottlenecks utilizing advanced wait statistics, performance counters, and Extended Events.Review complex T-SQL code and execution plans to optimize queries, indexes, and stored procedures.Resolve high-impact concurrency issues, including deadlocks, severe blocking, and lock timeouts.Establish performance baselines and proactively tune system configurations for high-throughput OLTP workloads. Implement robust database hardening policies, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and security auditing.Deploy advanced encryption mechanisms, such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and encryption in transit.Remediate vulnerabilities identified during Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) cycles.
