About the role
CCIE WebEx / Collaboration Engineer (Remote Support with Onsite Team) Location: Remote (Supporting Onsite Team ) Employment Type: Contract-Based (Project Duration: 30-45 Days) About the Role: We are seeking a 10 to 15+ year CCIE WebEx / Collaboration Engineer to lead the migration of on-prem Cisco VoIP system to Cisco WebEx Calling . The engineer will work remotely , providing high-level consulting, design, and troubleshooting, while coordinating with the onsite technical team for execution. Key Responsibilities: Design & Planning: Conduct a detailed assessment of the existing CUCM and VoIP infrastructure. Develop a comprehensive WebEx Calling migration plan , including SIP trunking, call routing, and dial plans. Identify challenges and provide solutions for CUCM-WebEx Calling interoperability . Migration & Implementation: Support the onsite team in migrating 500 IP phones to WebEx Calling. Ensure smooth PSTN access method transition and SIP trunk configurations. Guide the team on firmware migration for IP phones (Enterprise to MPP). Troubleshoot and optimize CUBE, SIP routing, and firewall rules for WebEx Calling. Testing & Handover: Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure all functionalities are working. Provide best practices and knowledge transfer to SUNY Corning's IT team. Support post-migration issue resolution and documentation. Required Skills & Qualifications: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Collaboration (Preferred) or CCNP Collaboration with strong hands-on experience. 5+ years of experience in Cisco WebEx Calling, CUCM, CUBE, and VoIP migrations . Strong expertise in: WebEx Calling deployment and SIP trunking CUCM configuration & migration strategies CUBE (Cisco Unified Border Element) setup and troubleshooting SIP call flows, PSTN access methods, and dial plan designs Cisco IP Phone firmware updates (Enterprise vs. MPP) Familiarity with Active Directory (AD), Okta, and other identity providers for user authentication. Experience working remotely with onsite teams for implementation. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to guide Level 1 & 2 engineers during execution. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with large-scale WebEx Calling deployments (1000+ users). Knowledge of Cisco Expressway and hybrid calling environments . Prior experience in university or enterprise VoIP migration projects. Project Details: Start Date: April 2025 Duration: 30-45 days Work Mode: Remote with close coordination with onsite engineers.
