Highway Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Highway Design Engineer to take complete ownership of the highway design lifecyclefrom initial conceptual drafting to finalization and approval. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical expertise in Civil 3D and MX Road , ensuring all designs meet stringent engineering, safety, and regulatory standards. This role requires a proactive professional who can seamlessly manage end-to-end design processes and is comfortable traveling to various project locations to ensure alignment between design blueprints and on-site execution. Key Responsibilities End-to-End Design Ownership: Lead and manage the entire highway designing process, handling everything from initial geometric layouts and drafting to final design optimization and approval. Technical Modeling & Drafting: Utilize Civil 3D and MX Road to create detailed horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, corridor models, intersections, and earthwork calculations. Project Site Collaboration: Travel to project locations as required to conduct site assessments, coordinate with regional project teams, and resolve design-related issues on-ground. Standards & Compliance: Ensure all highway designs comply with IRC (Indian Roads Congress) standards, MORTH specifications, and relevant local/international codes. Data Integration: Interpret and integrate topographic survey data, geotechnical reports, and traffic analysis into cohesive, high-quality design models. Quantity Estimation: Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ), detailed project reports (DPR), and technical specifications for construction. Interdisciplinary Coordination: Work closely with structures, drainage, and liaisoning teams to ensure a seamless integration of the overall highway infrastructure design. Required Skills & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Master’s degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. Experience: [3 to 8 years] of proven experience in highway design, specifically within road and highway infrastructure projects. Software Expertise: Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley MX Road (experience with OpenRoads Designer is a plus). Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of geometric design principles, pavement design, drainage systems, and earthworks calculation. Mobility: Willingness and flexibility to travel to project sites across various locations for field visits, client meetings, and design validation. Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and excellent communication skills to confidently finalize designs with stakeholders.
