Role: Devops Architect
Location: Fort Worth, TX (3 days onsite per week) Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Harness Continuous Delivery (CD) Creating & managing pipelines Deployments to on-prem & hybrid environments Artifact management & integration Rollbacks, canary/blue green deployments
Working with Harness delegates (very important for on-prem) Harness Continuous Integration (CI) Configuring CI pipelines Integrating with code repositories (GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab) Setting up build workflows & caching Managing CI runners / delegates locally CI/CD Tools Beyond Harness Even though Harness is main, broader DevOps CI/CD experience helps: Jenkins Azure DevOps On-Prem DevOps & Deployment Skills
Since deployments are heavily on-prem, these skills are essential: Windows/Linux system administration Understanding of VMs, hypervisors environments Networking fundamentals (DNS, NAT, routing, firewalls) Cloud Migration Skills Even if primarily on-prem, cloud migration experience is valuable: At least one major cloud: AWS (most common) Cloud Migration Concepts Lift and shift Re-platforming & re-architecting Hybrid cloud connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect) Migrating databases and workloads to cloud Cloud cost optimization basics Cloud
Native Tools: Managed Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE) Cloud networking & load balancers Cloud storage options
Good to Have: Database Ops Experience This is an advantage for DevOps roles interacting with app/infrastructure teams. Basics of SQL (queries, schemas, indexing) Operations: backup/restore, replication basics, monitoring Automated DB patching Database migration tools (Flyway, Liquibase) DB performance monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus, NewRelic, etc.) Observability & Monitoring Since DevOps often manages platform health: Dynatrace Prometheus + Grafana ELK / OpenSearch Datadog Security & Compliance HashiCorp Vault or Azure Key Vault SAST/DAST tools Secrets management SSL/TLS certificate management Bonus Skills (Valuable but Optional) Version control branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk based) API Gateways (Apigee, NGINX Plus)
