Job Description
Capital One is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer with strong AWS experience to drive the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This role will play a key part in enabling scalable, secure, and highly available platforms while mentoring teams and promoting DevOps best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of DevOps solutions using AWS cloud services
Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment processes
Collaborate closely with application development, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth releases
Drive infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
Monitor system performance, reliability, and security, and proactively resolve issues
Establish and enforce DevOps standards, best practices, and governance
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across DevOps initiatives
Support production environments with a focus on high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of overall IT experience with strong focus on DevOps and cloud engineering
Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS/ECS, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
Solid understanding of security, networking, and compliance in cloud environments
Nice to Have
AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.)
Experience in financial services or large enterprise environments
Exposure to SRE practices and observability tools
