Engineer -Design Engineering

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer with 35 years of experience in mechanical/composite product design. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in CATIA V5 , engineering drawings, GD&T, and product development while ensuring compliance with AS9100 and IATF 16949 quality management systems. The candidate will be responsible for designing composite components, tooling, and manufacturing documentation for aerospace and automotive projects. Key Responsibilities Develop 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using CATIA V5 . Design composite parts, tooling, moulds, jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids. Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation. Perform design modifications based on manufacturing, customer, and quality feedback. Ensure compliance with AS9100 , IATF 16949 , customer specifications, and engineering standards. Apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) principles in component and assembly design. Support prototype development, FAI, design validation, and engineering change management. Coordinate with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Customers during product development. Participate in Design Reviews, DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, and risk assessment activities. Maintain engineering documentation, revision control, and configuration management. Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for design-related issues. Drive design standardization, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent. 3–5 years of experience in product design within aerospace, automotive, or composite manufacturing industries. Technical Skills Strong proficiency in CATIA V5 (Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting, Generative Shape Design). Good understanding of composite structures and tooling design. Knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T . Experience with AS9100 and/or IATF 16949 quality management systems. Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Engineering Change Management. Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal, composite manufacturing, and assembly. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Exposure to PLM/PDM systems is preferred. Preferred Skills Experience in aerospace composite tooling and structural component design. Knowledge of laminate design concepts and composite manufacturing methods. Familiarity with CAD data management and revision control.
