Team Lead HW Engineering

Role Overview: You will lead and drive functional excellence in engineering solutions, providing knowledge base, services, and technical understanding for "Hardware Engineering" applications in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements. As the Engineering Lead, you will manage all aspects of the project life cycle from pre-sale proposal support to engineering support according to the defined scope. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you must be able to work independently, handling technical tasks on hardware and any 3rd party interfaces applicable to the projects. The role may involve travel for short or long-term assignments within India or overseas for customer meetings, project training, and site support. Your responsibilities will include organizing and scheduling job tasks with your team, providing leadership, driving productivity, managing team development, and resolving issues. Additionally, you will manage global stakeholders, including regional solution teams and Global Program Managers. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver and execute assigned projects on time with good quality, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. - Take on challenging tasks and provide solutions to internal and external stakeholders and industry teams. - Continuously improve your engineering capabilities and exchange best practices with team members to enhance team capabilities. - Lead technical implementation throughout the project delivery life cycle. - Collaborate with Technical Lead/SMEs to clarify technical issues and share workloads. - Present solutions to stakeholders and coordinate development tasks with team members. - Work closely with Project Managers for scope management, execution plans, and effective monitoring of execution for quality, cost-effectiveness, customer acceptance, and satisfaction. - Collaborate with Global Program Managers and Project Managers for WBS development. - Develop robust quality processes and ensure strict adherence. - Guide the proposal team for timely support on estimation and proposal delivery. - Ensure project implementation follows the SSB standard procedures. - Drive project cost reduction through continuous process improvement by applying and maximizing reusable engineering standards. - Drive business growth and strengthen the footprint of GEC as a technology Center of Excellence. - Optimize procurement processes and identify process improvement opportunities. - Support in AOP planning. - Ensure proper documentation of all audits (internal/external) and timely resolution of significant risks. - Engage with stakeholders to identify opportunities for increased engagement, seek feedback on deliverables, and improve overall engagement. - Ensure exceptional quality, on-time delivery, and within budget deliverables with high levels of Internal Customer Satisfaction. - Manage resource utilization, ensure accurate capacity planning, and assign the right skills to the work. Qualification Required: - Good understanding of AutoCAD, ACAD-Electrical/ePlan. - Knowledge of DOL, S/D, VFDs, Soft-Starters, PLC & MCC System Designing. - Familiarity with design calculations like Heat, Load, cable sizing, etc. - Understanding of mechanical design of different types of enclosures. - Awareness of electrical design standards such as IEC codes. - Expertise in RA products/Hardware like Control Logix, VFDs, etc. - Understanding of Server Client architecture. - Experience with at least one third-party DCS, PLC, HMI, SCADA systems. - Excellent customer focus and interpersonal skills. - Knowledge of IT software platforms, automation technologies, and conducting research into systems issues. - Proven record in managing multiple complex customer projects and Project Management. - Proficiency in commissioning and troubleshooting methods. - Effective communication skills and team management abilities. - Ability to create an optimal work environment and collaborate effectively. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Demonstrated leadership with ethics, integrity, and self-motivation. - Ability to influence a culture of innovation and growth. - Adaptable to manage global needs and expectations. - Effective in managing team performance, competency development, and knowledge sharing.
