As a Senior Design Engineer at Rolls-Royce, you will play a crucial role in designing components and subsystems of diesel and gas generator sets. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize your comprehensive knowledge of diesel and gas generator set systems to design components and subsystems - Perform basic calculations for sizing and selecting components and subsystems - Create detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and assembly layouts using Creo - Manage engineering changes and maintain design data using Windchill PLM - Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) and component master data in SAP - Apply GD&T principles to ensure accurate and manufacturable designs - Collaborate with suppliers to optimize sheet metal designs for manufacturability - Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness - Apply relevant industry codes and standards such as ISO, NFPA, EPA, IBC, ASME, etc. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering - 5 to 10 years of experience in Power Systems, Power Generation, or Off-Highway Engine industry - Proficiency in Creo for 3D modeling including sheet metal and detailed component design - Experience with Windchill for PLM activities - Working knowledge of SAP for managing engineering changes and Bill of Materials (BOMs) - Familiarity with generator set components and subsystems such as engine, alternators, cooling system, fuel system, etc. - Knowledge of mechanical system integration and assembly level design - Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication process, materials, and GD&T practices Please note that Power Systems is the Rolls-Royce business that provides world-class power solutions and complete life-cycle support under the product and solution brand mtu.
