Project Duration - 1 year Lead - API Test AutomationThis is a Lead role requiring a 50/50 split between technical and management responsibilities. The core focus is on backend API testing automation (70%), with some UI testing (30%) using Playwright. Ideal Candidate Profile Experience: 10+ years overall, with at least 5 years in a lead capacity. Leadership: Proven experience leading a team of 5 or more members. This is a leadership, not a people-management, role (you will guide the team technically, not handle HR functions). Work Model: Hybrid, requiring 2 days per week in the office. Local presence is preferred, but the company is open to candidates willing to relocate. Interview Process: A rigorous 3-round process consisting of: o 2 Technical rounds o 1 Panel round Key Requirement: Onsite interviews are mandatory. Technical & Testing RequirementsYour technical expertise is a critical component of this role. Core Technologies: Primary Languages: Java and Python. API Testing: This is the absolute must-have. You need deep, hands-on experience with API test automation, specifically using Karate or Rest Assured. UI Testing: Experience with Playwright is required for the 30% UI component. The Mission: You will be responsible for expanding an existing test automation framework and, more importantly, creating a new one from the ground up. The work is heavily weighted towards the backend (70%), with a smaller focus on the frontend (30%). Key Responsibilities (Summary)1. Lead a Team: Guide a team of 5+ members, providing technical direction and oversight. 2. Build & Expand Frameworks: Take ownership of the test automation strategy by both enhancing the current framework and architecting a new, robust solution. 3. Drive Automation: Lead the automation efforts for backend API testing using Java, Python, and Karate/Rest Assured. 4. Contribute to UI Testing: Participate in UI test automation using Playwright. 5. Code & Architect: Be actively involved in coding challenges and architectural decisions during the interviews and on the job.
