About the role
As a DB2 for z/OS System Support professional, you will be joining our DB2 Support team to administer, maintain, and optimize large-scale DB2 environments across multiple mainframes and geographies. Your responsibilities will include ensuring database stability, performance tuning, security, and providing L2/L3 support for mission-critical DB2 databases in high-volume OLTP environments. Key Responsibilities: - Administer and support DB2 for z/OS environments. - Monitor and optimize DB2 database performance. - Perform DB2 installation, upgrades, maintenance, and patching activities. - Develop, test, and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures. - Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance. - Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for DB2-related incidents. - Support and manage distributed DB2 connections. - Perform capacity planning and storage management. - Troubleshoot complex database and application-related issues. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability. - Maintain high availability and performance of DB2 databases in CICS/OLTP environments. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. - Relevant IBM Mainframe or DB2 certifications are advantageous. If you have 5+ years of experience as a DB2 for z/OS System Programmer or Administrator, proficiency in DB2 production support, maintenance, tuning, and application support, along with strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, we are looking for you. Your ability to work in a dynamic support environment, handle critical incidents, and collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders will be valuable in this role.
