Head – Aerosol & Specialty Products Technology Location: Bhiwadi, Rajasthan / Delhi NCR Company: S-CCI India Private Limited Reporting to: Managing Director / Senior Management Function: Research, Product Development & Technology About S-CCI India S-CCI India Private Limited is a leading Indo-Japanese automotive and specialty-chemical manufacturing company with deep relationships across the Indian automotive industry. We manufacture automotive coolants, brake fluids, lubricants and related specialty products for leading vehicle manufacturers and the replacement market. As part of our next phase of expansion, we are establishing a substantial aerosol and specialty-products business supported by modern manufacturing, filling, packaging, automation and product-development capabilities. We are seeking an accomplished technology leader to build and lead this business from the formulation stage through industrialisation and commercial launch. The Role The Head – Aerosol & Specialty Products Technology will be responsible for creating S-CCI India's technical capability in automotive, industrial and consumer specialty products. This is not merely a laboratory-formulation position. The selected person will be expected to build the product portfolio, establish the development laboratory, develop commercially competitive formulations, validate packaging systems and successfully transfer products from laboratory scale to full industrial production. The position offers an opportunity to create a new technology platform within an established and financially strong manufacturing organisation. Key Responsibilities Develop formulations for automotive, workshop, industrial and consumer aerosol products. Build a commercially viable portfolio of aerosol and non-aerosol specialty products. Establish laboratory facilities, development procedures, documentation and testing protocols. Select and evaluate solvents, propellants, active ingredients, additives, fragrances and functional raw materials. Develop products such as brake cleaners, carburetor and throttle-body cleaners, chain lubricants, penetrating oils, silicone sprays, contact cleaners, rust preventives, polishes, degreasers and other maintenance products. Develop related non-aerosol specialty products, cleaners, protectants and workshop chemicals. Ensure compatibility between formulation, aerosol cans, valves, actuators, seals and propellant systems. Conduct stability, corrosion, leakage, pressure, discharge-rate, spray-pattern and storage studies. Establish finished-product specifications, raw-material specifications, test methods and acceptance criteria. Lead pilot batches, plant trials, process validation and commercial scale-up. Work closely with production, engineering, automation, quality, procurement, packaging development and marketing. Identify and qualify Indian and international raw-material, valve, actuator, can and propellant suppliers. Benchmark competing products and improve performance, cost and user experience. Prepare technical data sheets, safety data, manufacturing instructions and product dossiers. Ensure compliance with applicable safety, labelling, transport, storage and regulatory requirements. Support customer demonstrations, field trials, technical claims and complaint investigation. Recruit, develop and lead a team of formulation chemists and laboratory personnel. Protect formulations, technical know-how, product specifications and confidential development records. Candidate Profile We are looking for a hands-on technology leader with substantial direct experience in aerosol and specialty-product development. The ideal candidate should have: A degree or postgraduate qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Oils and Fats Technology, Polymer Science, Pharmaceutical Science or a related discipline. Approximately 12–20 years of relevant experience, with significant responsibility for aerosol or specialty-chemical formulation. Proven experience taking products from concept and laboratory formulation to commercial manufacturing. Strong knowledge of aerosol propellants, solvents, valves, actuators, cans, seals and formulation-packaging compatibility. Practical understanding of flammable-material handling, hazardous-area requirements and aerosol-plant safety. Experience in automotive-care, industrial-maintenance, household, FMCG, personal-care or related aerosol categories. Knowledge of quality-control methods, stability testing, product specifications and technical documentation. Experience in vendor development, raw-material localization, and formulation cost optimization. Ability to lead both laboratory development and factory scale-up. Strong commercial judgement and the ability to distinguish an interesting formulation from a marketable, scalable and profitable product. Candidates currently working with established aerosol manufacturers, automotive-care companies, industrial-chemical businesses, contract aerosol manufacturers or leading FMCG organizations are particularly relevant.
