Role & responsibilities JOB TITLE: SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER INVESTMENT CASTING Company: Location: Tirupati Experience: 3 + Years Qualification: BE / B.Tech Mechanical Industry: Aerospace / Precision Investment Casting / Industrial Gas Turbine Job Summary AEROSPACE component manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Senior Process Engineer – Vacuum Investment Casting with strong expertise in gas turbine components, metallurgical process development, and vacuum investment casting technologies . The candidate should have hands-on experience in new product development, gating design, shell process development, casting process optimization, and metallurgical quality control within aerospace or industrial turbine manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage process development activities for vacuum investment castings used in gas turbine applications . Develop and optimize gating concepts, shell process, mould wrapping, insulation, and casting methods . Support product development teams to achieve committed customer delivery schedules . Ensure metallurgical quality during development and after handover to production for at least 3 engine set quantities . • Study and interpret drawings, metallurgical specifications, customer standards, and process requirements. Implement customer-specific requirements into company procedures and work instructions . Develop robust casting and metallurgical processes to meet customer specifications and quality standards. Create and maintain development process routers and coordinate with cross-functional departments for execution. Personally monitor and witness pre-cast and metallurgical operations during development trials. Maintain proper records of process trials including notes, photographs, videos, observations, and results . Review NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) results and recommend corrective actions and process improvements. Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and audits as required. Drive scrap reduction initiatives and process improvements for metallurgical-related issues. Ensure all development records are stored and maintained systematically for traceability and future reference. Required Skills s Experience Minimum 3 + years of experience in Vacuum Investment Casting Foundry operations. Hands-on experience with gas turbine components for aerospace and/or industrial turbine applications. Strong expertise in: Gating Design Shell Process Development Casting Process Optimization Metallurgical Process Development Investment Casting Technologies Scrap Reduction C Process Improvement Experience in new product development (NPD) and process qualification. Strong understanding of: Metallurgical specifications Aerospace quality systems Foundry process controls Casting defect analysis Ability to work in a high-quality focused manufacturing environment . Willingness to perform both hands-on shop floor activities and office-based technical tasks . Strong communication skills with ability to interact with international customers . Proficiency in MS Office, technical reporting, and presentations . Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualification BE / B.Tech – Mechanical Candidates with technical exposure in Metallurgy, Ceramics, or Manufacturing Engineering will be preferred. Apprenticeship-trained candidates with strong practical foundry experience may also be considered. Preferred Industry Background Aerospace Foundry Industrial Gas Turbine Manufacturing Precision Investment Casting Vacuum Casting Foundry Turbine Components Manufacturing Important Note Candidates with experience in Vacuum Investment Casting Foundry and Gas Turbine Components will only be considered. Aerospace / Industrial Turbine casting experience is highly preferred.
