About the role
Description SAIC is seeking a Modeling Engineer-Scientist to support the Next Generation Submarine Battery program in Crane, IN. Responsibilities: Develop, enhance, and validate thermal and electrochemical models to support battery system design and performance assessment Apply MATLAB for model development, simulation, and analysis Support modeling activities related to multi‑physics interactions within NiZn, Lead‑Acid, and Lithium battery systems Assist with developing complex thermal and electrochemical models Qualifications Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related scientific discipline and five (5) years of experience Experience with thermal modeling Proficiency in MATLAB Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to work effectively in a team‑based, technical environment Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance; can start once interim clearance is granted. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process Preferred Qualifications Experience in electrical and chemical modeling Familiarity with ANSYS thermal modeling tools
