As a Data Scientist at your Client's company based in Chennai, India, you will be responsible for leading the development of a Data Science program. Your role will involve working closely with stakeholders to gain in-depth knowledge across various industries such as paper, water, leather, and performance chemical sectors. Key Responsibilities: - Develop a data strategy for the company, focusing on collecting the right data, creating a data science project portfolio, collaborating with external providers, and enhancing capabilities through internal hires. - Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to initiate proofs of concept projects showcasing innovative applications of data science to address existing challenges. - Leverage your individual expertise, broad data science knowledge, and external partnerships to drive the success of the program. - Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team comprising sensor scientists, software engineers, network engineers, mechanical/electrical engineers, and chemical engineers for the development and deployment of IoT solutions. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science. - Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an analytical role involving data extraction, analysis, and visualization, with a proven track record of solving complex problems. - Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field is preferred. - Experience in the specialty chemicals sector or a similar industry. - Background in engineering, particularly Chemical Engineering. - Experience in initiating a data science program and working with global stakeholders. - Previous exposure to start-up environments, ideally within an IoT company. - Proficiency in quantitative modeling tools and statistical analysis.
