About the role
Key Responsibilities * Research emerging technologies in solar PV, inverters, hybrid systems, battery storage, EV charging, energy management, and power electronics. * Identify new products and technology opportunities for residential, commercial, and industrial solar projects. * Work closely with the Managing Director in evaluating technical feasibility, market potential, risks, and commercial viability. * Study and evaluate solar inverters, IGBTs, MOSFETs, diodes, rectifiers, capacitors, transformers, protection devices, controllers, and other electrical and electronic components. * Coordinate with inverter manufacturers, component suppliers, technology companies, laboratories, and engineering consultants. * Assist the project, procurement, service, and sales teams with technical inputs and product knowledge. * Maintain records of technical specifications, test results, vendor discussions, product approvals, and development progress. * Present R&D findings and recommendations periodically to the Managing Director. Required Technical Knowledge * Strong understanding of electrical working principles, AC and DC systems, voltage, current, power, frequency, power factor, and electrical safety. * Basic to good knowledge of solar PV modules, strings, MPPT, inverters, batteries, protection systems, and grid integration. * Understanding of power-electronic components such as IGBTs, MOSFETs, diodes, rectifiers, capacitors, inductors, transformers, relays, and semiconductor switching devices. * Knowledge of inverter operating principles, DCDC conversion, DC–AC conversion, PWM, harmonic control, thermal management, and protection logic. * Ability to read electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, circuit diagrams, datasheets, manuals, and technical specifications. * Familiarity with testing instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation resistance testers, earth testers, power analysers, oscilloscopes, and thermal cameras will be an advantage. * Awareness of relevant IEC, BIS, MNRE, grid-connectivity, and electrical-safety standards will be preferred.
