Job Description: Digital/FPGA Design Engineer (1-4 Years Experience) - 2 Posts SAMTEL Avionics seeks a Digital/FPGA Design Engineer with 1-4 years of experience for its new space vertical to handle design, simulation, and testing of digital hardware for Satcom payloads, including firmware, DSP, Software Defined Radio (SDR), and advanced digital architectures for satellites. Key Responsibilities Design, simulate, and verify FPGA-based digital hardware, firmware, and DSP algorithms for satellite transponders in Ka-band, S-band, and X-band applications. Develop Software Defined Radio (SDR) systems and high-end digital designs, including VHDL/Verilog coding, synthesis, and timing closure for space-grade reliability. Collaborate with systems engineering and RF design teams to optimize digital hardware, firmware, and software integration, supporting link budgets and payload performance. Required Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with focus on digital systems or embedded hardware. 1-4 years of experience in FPGA design, digital hardware development, simulation, and testing for aerospace or communications systems. Proficiency in tools like Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, ModelSim, and languages including VHDL, Verilog, and MATLAB for DSP. Preferred Skills Experience with satellite-specific digital designs, radiation-hardened FPGAs, and full lifecycle from fabrication to environmental testing. Knowledge of SDR architectures, real-time firmware, and interfaces like JESD204, Aurora for high-speed data in Satcom payloads. Strong teamwork skills for multidisciplinary optimization and agile development in SAMTEL Avionics space initiatives. Personal Attributes Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
