About the role
As an Engineer Production Technology at Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions (SMR), your role involves developing and improving effective and safe manufacturing methods for both new and existing products, with a focus on CAM machining and CAD experience. You will collaborate with cross-functional departments and be responsible for CNC programming, selecting machines and tools, managing master data, preparing process documents, supporting new equipment installation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your responsibilities include: - Collaborating with cross-functional departments on manufacturing engineering activities - Performing CNC programming and process validation - Selecting machines, jigs, fixtures, and cutting tools for machining - Managing master data in Teamcenter, MDG, and SAP S/4HANA - Preparing and maintaining process documents - Supporting equipment installation and commissioning - Focusing on continuous improvement for quality, productivity, and cost reduction - Supporting production requirements and troubleshooting shop floor issues - Developing competency in multi-tasking machines and LEAN manufacturing - Conducting data analysis, problem-solving, and documentation - Improving product quality and overseeing successful implementation - Working with production associates to resolve manufacturing and quality problems - Ensuring system compliance with ISO standards and SMRTIPL procedures Qualifications required for this role include: - A graduate in mechanical or production engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience - Advanced knowledge of machining processes and inspection methods - Proficiency in CNC program generation and CAM programming - Experience in process planning, new product development, and engineering change management - Familiarity with modern manufacturing techniques, automation, and special processes - Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD modeling - Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, and digitalization concepts - Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and EHS awareness Sandvik Group offers diverse opportunities for growth and development in a collaborative environment.
