About the role
Job Purpose: skilled Robotic Welding Engineer to oversee and optimize robotic welding systems, ensure high-quality weld output, and lead automation improvements across welding operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in robotic welding setup, programming, and troubleshooting Principal Accountabilities: · Program, operate, and maintain robotic welding systems (e.g., ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa). · Review welding drawings, WPS/PQR/WPQ and ensure compliance in robotic processes. · Optimize weld parameters (voltage, speed, wire feed) for cycle time and quality. · Develop and implement new welding automation systems for improved efficiency. · Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions. · Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure smooth integration. · Train operators and technicians on robotic cell usage, safety, and quality standards. · Maintain PM schedules, spares inventory, and documentation for all welding robots. · Support IATF/ISO/ASME audits and documentation as required. · Evaluate and drive productivity, uptime, and weld quality KPIs. Knowledge & Skills needed to deliver on the accountabilities: · Strong knowledge of MIG/MAG welding processes (especially for structural steel, chassis, or trailers). · Hands-on experience in robot programming (ABB / Yaskawa / FANUC etc.). · Exposure to welding automation , jigs & fixture design basics. · Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, GD&T, and technical drawings. · Understanding of robotic safety standards and interlocks. · Problem-solving and analytical skills. · Familiarity with WPS/PQR and international welding standard Formal Education Requirements, as applicable: Diploma/B. Tech / BE - Mechanical Years of relevant Experience needed: Minimum of 4+ years relevant experience in manufacturing industry.
