About our group

The Intelligent Engineering & Enterprise Systems (IEES) organization provides and supports the digital platforms that enable Seagate's global engineering teams to develop industry-leading storage products.

Our team manages Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Engineering Knowledge Management, JIRA Agile Development Platforms, Technology and Portfolio Management System, Environmental Compliance System, and other critical engineering applications used worldwide. These platforms are tightly integrated with Seagate's ERP, Manufacturing Systems, Supply Chain, and Data Warehouse environments.

As part of Seagate's AI Transformation initiative, IEES is building next-generation AI-enabled solutions that transform engineering data embedded in different engineering systems into accessible knowledge and actionable intelligence to accelerate product innovation and engineering productivity.

This is a global team that collaborates closely with colleagues in the United States, Singapore, India, and China. About the role - you will:

Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) applications

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions

AI Assistants and Engineering Copilots

Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations

AI Agent and workflow automation solutions

Enterprise engineering knowledge management

Your responsibilities may include:

Design, develop, and evaluate AI-powered prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions.

Build integrations between AI applications and enterprise engineering platforms, such as Windchill PLM, JIRA, TPM, and other business systems.

Develop AI orchestration workflows that leverage multiple engineering systems and data sources to automate and streamline complex business processes.

Assist with data preparation, system integration, validation, and end-to-end testing of AI solutions.

Collaborate with IT leads, architects, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical AI-enabled solutions.

Document designs, implementation approaches, test results, and lessons learned to support solution adoption and continuous improvement.

Your experience includes:

Senior undergraduate, Master's, or PhD student

Major in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Data Science, or related disciplines

Programming experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, or related technologies

Understanding of software development fundamentals and data structures

Ability to read and communicate in English in a global work environment

Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas:

Generative AI

Large Language Models (LLMs)

Machine Learning

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

AI Agents

Model Context Protocol (MCP)

GitHub Copilot

LangChain or LlamaIndex

REST APIs

Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Location: Located in the high technology district, our site in Wuxi is a global manufacturing hub, where nearly 5,000 employees deliver technical services, customer test, manufacturing, and support capabilities. On site you can grab breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks at our canteen, grab-and-go market and coffee shop. We offer basketball, badminton, yoga clubs and group exercise classes. We also have music, dance, photography, and literature clubs galore, along with an active Toastmasters International chapter, and frequently have on-site festivals, celebrations and community volunteer opportunities.
