About the role
About our group
Our test platform development team is under Characterization and Analysis Group (CAG) that provides test solutions to support design learnings at the transducer level to the Transducer Design teams. We work closely with CAG-US and transducer designers in MN, USA, and Springtown, UK. About the role - you will:
Work with Test Development and R&D Operation teams to develop, qualify, and deploy test applications and test tools (HW/SW) for design feedback and test process control
Work with Design and R&D Operation teams to conduct the magnetic recording experiments to characterize performance and reliability, perform data analysis of the expected performance in comparison with the results and present results to Recording Head Development teams
Conceive and develop solutions to R&D Operation teams through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices and procedures
Exercise independent judgement in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
About you
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, or related fields
Good understanding of electromagnetics and electronics
Innovative and self-motivated worker who is driven by curiosity
Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Able to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of engineers
Have a good (can-do) attitude, willing to learn and take ownership of job responsibility
Able to effectively plan, control and take responsibility for group's results
Able to prioritize multiple tasks, manage conflicting deadlines, and work effectively in a dynamic environment
Fluent in English communication both spoken and written
Your experience includes:
Programming languages (Python, C)
Automated data collection and processing, and analysis of large datasets
Use of measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.) is preferable
