About the role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at SG Global Solutions, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for animal feed equipment such as mixers, hammer mills, pellet machines, and related systems. Your daily tasks will involve creating and updating CAD models and detailed drawings, performing basic calculations and design simulations, and ensuring that designs meet functional, safety, and manufacturability requirements. You will collaborate with production, procurement, and quality teams to support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment. Additionally, you will assist in refining existing products for improved reliability and cost-effectiveness and help maintain design documentation and bills of materials. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for animal feed equipment - Create and update CAD models and detailed drawings - Perform basic calculations and design simulations - Collaborate with production, procurement, and quality teams - Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment - Refine existing products for improved reliability and cost-effectiveness - Maintain design documentation and bills of materials Qualifications: - Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to machinery and process equipment - Hands-on experience or coursework in Design Engineering and Machine Design for industrial or process machinery is a plus. Freshers can also apply. - Proficiency in Product Design, focusing on practicality, safety, durability, and ease of manufacturing - Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) to create 2D drawings and 3D models - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience - Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and technical documentation - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to work both independently and in cross-functional teams - Good communication skills for coordination with production, vendors, and internal stakeholders; experience in manufacturing environments is an advantage - Familiarity with industrial machinery, rotating equipment, or material handling systems is beneficial; experience in the animal feed or related industries is a plus As a Mechanical Design Engineer at SG Global Solutions, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for animal feed equipment such as mixers, hammer mills, pellet machines, and related systems.
