About the role
A Snapshot of Your Day As part of our global Artificial Intelligence organization, you will drive research and development of cuttingedge computervision technologies for nextgeneration energy systems. Your work will focus on exploring new methods in visual intelligence, developing prototypes, and transforming fundamental research into scalable solutions. You will investigate novel approaches for automated defect detection, autonomous operation, and visual asset analysislaying the technological foundations that shape Siemens Energys digital future. How Youll Make An Impact Conduct applied research in computer vision, machine learning, and 3D perception to advance our internal R&D roadmap. Develop novel algorithms, models, and computational methods, from ideation and experimentation to prototype implementation. Evaluate stateoftheart scientific literature and identify opportunities for technology transfer into energysector applications. Collaborate with internal and external partners to jointly drive the application of Computer Vision technologies across Siemens Energy. Publish and present findings to internal and external stakeholders. Build experimental pipelines, conduct systematic testing, and document scientific results to guide future development. What You Bring University degree (Masters or PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with a strong focus on computer vision or image processing. Deep expertise in modern CV techniques: object detection, semantic/instance segmentation, feature extraction, 3D reconstruction, generative models, sensor fusion, and related methods. Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python; experience with research frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), computervision libraries, and GPUaccelerated computing. Solid mathematical background (linear algebra, optimization, 3D geometry) and familiarity with sensor technologies and imaging systems. Experience in scientific research environments (industry R&D, lab, or academic research). Ability to collaborate across international, multidisciplinary research teams.
