Data Engineer

Siemens Energy is hiring for the role of Data Engineer! Responsibilities of the Candidate: Build and maintain data pipelines in Snowflake using SQL and Python Support Python-based ETL workflows and migration from legacy tools Contribute to data modeling and ensure clean, well-documented datasets Support development of Power BI and Streamlit data applications Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, and documentation Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders in Agile sprints Follow GitLab best practices including version control, code reviews, and testing Requirements: Working proficiency in SQL for data querying, transformation, and modeling Foundational Python skills for data manipulation, scripting, and automation Exposure to cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred or equivalent) Basic experience with Power BI or similar BI tools Familiarity with version control systems (Git or equivalent) Exposure to Streamlit or Python-based data applications is a plus Understanding of SAP data structures (S/4HANA, EPM+, SAP Analytics Cloud) is an advantage Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) Curious and growth-oriented mindset toward adopting AI in software development Interest in finance data and understanding business context behind analytics Ability to engage with stakeholders and translate requirements into solutions Exposure to Agile methodologies and sprint-based delivery Strong documentation practices and attention to detail Excellent written English communication skills in a global team setup Collaborative mindset with eagerness to learn and grow Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field 1–3 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related roles (internships included) Strong learning mindset with commitment to continuous improvement
