About the role
Key Responsibilities Monitor and manage enterprise DNS infrastructure. Troubleshoot DNS resolution issues, delegation problems, zone transfer issues, and DNSSEC-related incidents. Configure and manage F5 DNS/GTM Wide IPs, Pools, Topology Load Balancing, iRules, and DNS listeners. Perform DNS record management (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, PTR). Manage DNS zones and zone transfers. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues using TCP/IP fundamentals. Analyze packet captures using Wireshark and tcpdump. Perform health monitoring and failover testing for DNS services. Handle incidents, service requests, problem management, and change implementation. Coordinate with application, server, security, and network teams for issue resolution. Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs. Participate in on-call support and major incident management. Required Skills DNS Strong understanding of DNS architecture and protocols. DNS query flow and recursive resolution. Forward and Reverse DNS. Zone delegation and zone transfers. DNS troubleshooting and performance analysis. Experience with BIND or enterprise DNS platforms. F5 Hands-on experience with F5 DNS/GTM. Knowledge of Wide IPs Pools and Pool Members iRules DNS Listeners Data Centers and Servers Monitors Topology Load Balancing GSLB synchronization DNS Express Experience in F5 LTM administration is preferred. Networking Strong knowledge of TCP/IP OSI Model Routing and Switching VLANs NAT Load Balancing HTTP/HTTPS SSL/TLS Firewalls Troubleshooting Tools Wireshark tcpdump nslookup dig traceroute ping Soft Skills Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Good verbal and written communication. Ability to work in shifts and handle critical incidents. Customer-focused mindset.
