This is a 100% hands-on, Individual Contributor (IC) role. We are looking for a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer who loves writing clean, high-performance code. You will be be responsible for the complete design and development of firmware solutions tailored for high-end products deployed in industrial applications. This role involves working across the entire lifecycle from conceptualization and architecture design to implementation, testing, and deployment. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, reliability, and performance of embedded systems in demanding industrial environments. Core Responsibilities Hands-on Core Development: Write expert-level, deterministic C/C++ firmware for 8, 16, and 32-bit ARM Microcontrollers (STM32/Microchip)/Microprocessors (NXP-Freescale/SBC)/ deployed in rugged industrial environments. Platform & Code Reuse: Implement modular code to ensure reusability and reliability of designs. Hardware Integration: Work side-by-side with our hardware team to implement embedded designs. Advanced OS & Driver Development: Develop, debug, and optimize systems utilizing Embedded Linux or RTOS environments, including custom device drivers and streaming/compression protocols where required. Rigorous Testing: Take full ownership of your codes quality. Implement strict unit testing and debugging using emulators and compilers to ensure zero field failures. Collaborate with hardware teams to perform initial board bring-up, configure peripherals, and validate system designs. Analyze and optimize firmware for real-time performance, memory usage, and power consumption. Troubleshoot complex hardware/Firmware integration issues using advanced testing tools (JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes). Provide technical guidance to junior developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce engineering coding standards/best practices. Technical Skills & Experience Experience: Minimum 4 years of pure, hands-on embedded firmware development. Coding Mastery: Expertise in C and C++ programming with a deep understanding of memory management and concurrency in resource-constrained systems. Hardware Literacy: Proven capability to read hardware schematics and interface firmware with peripherals via I2C, SPI, UART, CAN etc. OS Frameworks: Strong working experience with Embedded Linux (Yocto, Kernel customization) and RTOS (such as Free RTOS or VxWorks). Tools: Expert use of debuggers, emulators, cross compilers (Keil, Cube Mx and MPLAB, GCC and Git for version control. Bonus Skills: Knowledge of video/audio streaming protocols or compression algorithms. System-Level Understanding: Familiarity with communication protocols/Interfaces-SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet-MII/RMII/, USB, I2S, ADC, DAC, Audio Codec, NAND, NOR, DRAM, PCI, BLE, Wi-Fi/Zigbee, LoRa, GSM/LTE etc. and a strong working knowledge of embedded software architecture. Programming with TCP/IP in embedded environments Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters in Electronics and communication Engineering or a related field. 4 to 5 years of proven hands-on experience in the end-to-end design and development of firmware for embedded products design.
