Headquartered in Berhampore, West Bengal, the firm operates across political intelligence, electoral research, public policy, data analytics, artificial intelligence, governance research, and digital transformation. Role Description The Founding CTO is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Kolkata, responsible for shaping and executing the organizations overall technology vision and roadmap. This role will lead end-to-end software and product development for research and intelligence platforms, including architecture design, technical decision-making, and implementation oversight. The Founding CTO will manage and mentor a growing engineering team, establish development standards and best practices, and coordinate closely with research, data, and policy teams to translate complex analytical needs into robust technical solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing project delivery, ensuring system reliability and security, integrating data and AI capabilities, and setting up scalable infrastructure and processes. The role also involves vendor and stakeholder coordination, budgeting for technology initiatives, and continuous evaluation of emerging tools and technologies relevant to SIYASAH Labs mission. Qualifications Strong skills in Software Development and Product Development, including building data-intensive and AI-enabled platforms. Experience in IT Strategy and Architecture, with the ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable systems. Demonstrated Project Management capabilities, including planning, execution, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration. Proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., Python, JavaScript, microservices, major cloud providers). Background in data engineering, analytics, or machine learning integration is highly beneficial. Prior experience in a founding, startup, or early-stage leadership role, especially within tech or data-driven organizations. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a commitment to ethical and responsible technology use. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). .
